Mount Sequoyah Woods
Fayetteville, Arkansas
|
The purpose of this Web site is to support citizen efforts aimed at preserving Mount Sequoyah Woods, a 70-acre tract on the east side of Mount Sequoyah currently owned by the Methodist Assembly. The Assembly's board of trustees have announced their intentions to sell the property, which has been appraised at $1.3 million. If the property is developed, Fayetteville will lose a historically-important natural resource in the heart of the city.
NOTICE: The Assembly has accepted the city’s $1.3 million offer to buy the woods. A resolution to approve the purchase will be before Fayetteville City Council during its April 1 meeting (see news article).
